One thing I hope to accomplish in this goal is to widdle down my backlog. It seems for every game I complete I buy 3 more, and my backlog has continually grown over the past few years. Coming into this year I know that this could be my chance to finally get it own, because there are only a few games that I am looking forward too. The few games that I am looking forward to are Dead Space 2, Uncharted 3, Batman: AC, and Infamous 2. With only 4 games that are drawing my attention it gives me more time to put into my backlog.
My backlog consists of a lot of older games, and this was due to not being intrigued by trophies when they were first released. Also my backlog consists of games that take a long... long time to complete. This was due to being able to complete other games faster. For Example I have Demon's Souls on my backlog, and this is because it has 36 trophies, but requires 100+ hours to platinum. That's about 1 trophy every 3 hours, but Dead Space I can get at least 2 trophies every hour.
Backlog list:
Dragon Age: Orgins (Almost completed 1 play through, requires 3)
Demon's Souls
Final Fantasy 13
Batman: AA
Darksiders
Bayonetta
Prince of Persia
3D Dot Game Hero
Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood (Single Player Complete, Multiplayer Trophies only left)
Battlefield Bad Company 2 (Single Player Complete, Multiplayer Trophies only left)
Dead Space (Must beat on impossible)
Dead Nation (Only beat first 2 levels)
Shank (Must beat hardest difficulty)
Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World (Only beat first level)
Just because I haven't beat some of these games it doesn't mean I think they are bad. My attention usually has been drawed to another game due to it's sequel being released. To complete my goal I must go a certain way about it. There will be ups and downs where I will have the adrenaline and urge to just blast through trophies. For example when I start this goal (on Jan 1, 2011) I will be pumped and blast through trophies. If I start off playing one of my longer games then I can finish it, but at the end I'll get worn down that's when I can play a shorter game. This will allow me to clear out the longer games without feeling like it's just dragging on.
One last thing that I want to mention. I work, and will be going to school starting on January 3rd. I will be taking full time credits thus giving me less free time to play the games. Don't feel bad though, because I won't give up. I will always have time for my games.
Other than that if I stay on track and keep my game purchases to a limit I will be able to deplete my backlog before the end of the next year. I would love to start off by getting a platinum in Demon's Souls, but with Dead Space 2 around the corner I will have to complete Dead Space on Impossible. This should only take me 2 weeks at the most, and give me my first platinum.
Thanks for joining me and reading my blog. I'll see you again next week, I'm off to New York for the rest of the week. Need a nice vacation before I get started.

The Purpose of this Blog!
At the end of November of this year (2010), I had 900+ PS3 trophies. I made a personal goal to hit 1,000 PS3 trophies before the end of the year. Needless to say, I accomplished that goal, but I had so much fun doing it. I have decided to take it a step further, and now I want to break 2,012 PS3 trophies by the year of 2012.
Let me stop for a second, and inform the people who don't know what a "PS3 trophy" is. A PS3 trophy isn't a real trophy. It is an inanimate object that is given to you for accomplishing a goal in a video game. The Microsoft XBox 360 has the same thing, but they call them achievements. Certain goals could be, "Get X amount of kills with X weapon" or, "Beat X game on X difficulty setting". When all PS3 trophies are gathered in one game (not counting Downloadable Content (DLC)) that player will receive a Platinum trophy. The amount of trophies in every game varies, and some games don't even have a platinum trophy.
This blog will have tons of different things that have to do with video games. I will update on a weekly basis (Sundays) talking about the video games that I am working on. I will be reviewing the games that I complete, as well as my thoughts while I'm completing the game. I will also give out strategies I used to beat the game, and even strategies to gain the same trophies/achievements that I'm obtaining.
Now to officially set my goals...
I have 1000+ trophies and I must have 2,012 trophies by 01/01/2012
I am also throwing in what I think is a little more difficult. I must have 32 Platinum trophies by 01/01/2012. I currently only have 17, so that's 15 more. I must fully complete (100% non DLC trophies) 15 different games that give out trophies. This way it will prevent me from just getting bronze trophies (easiest attainable trophies) until I hit 2,012.
I hope you join me in completing my quest to 2,012 trophies by the year of 2012. There will be plenty to discuss and follow along with in this blog. I will give my thoughts and opinions on the games I play, as well as have discussions/strategies on the games and trophies/achievements I obtain. That way you can still get something out of this blog even if you're not interested in someone getting inanimate trophies.
